A History of Touching Lives and Healing Hearts
The Carole and Ronald Krist Samaritan Counseling Center began its service in 1986 sponsored by three Clear Lake churches who wanted to begin a faith-based counseling center. The Center has supporting churches of different denominations and several office locations in the greater Houston-Galveston area.
The Center has a renowned training program for clergy and mental health professionals. More than 150 people have graduated from the program and serve in churches and counseling centers around the world.
The Center’s annual gala, A Samaritan Celebration, benefits the Counseling Assistance Fund, a fund providing quality counseling and mental health services to those in need on a sliding fee scale.
In 2001, Carole and Ronald Krist donated the building that formerly housed the Krist Law Firm to the Samaritan Center. With an estimated value of five million dollars, this incredible building also included many exquisite furnishings. In January, 2002, the Center relocated to the new building and opened its doors for business as The Carole and Ronald Krist Samaritan Counseling Center.
From its small beginnings in 1986, The Carole and Ronald Krist Samaritan Counseling Center has grown to become a significant provider of counseling services in the greater Houston area and will continue to have a considerable impact on the field of counseling.
