Window to the Soul. They say eyes are a window to the soul. Eyes can say a lot, even when the mouth is not speaking. When the face of a loved one lights up, we know they feel special and cared for. This month, we’re discussing practical ways to make your spouse feel loved and their eyes twinkle. It’s time to sit back, relax and catch this month’s Spirit. All you need is love. ~John Lennon & Paul McCartney
Actions Speak Louder. “As you wish” is a great line from a classic movie—The Princess Bride. In the film, the hero was a servant to the heroine and her family, and this expression was how he articulated his love for her without her knowing it. Anytime she demanded he do something for her, the hero replied “as you wish” and did whatever she asked without complaining. Over time she came to realize that the boy loved her because of his words and attitude, but more importantly, his actions. One of the great goals in marriage is to actively pursue your spouses’ heart. Love can be conveyed verbally, but if it’s not backed up by action, the words become meaningless. Repeated, consistent actions of loving behavior produces trust and intimacy, helps build bridges over relational gaps, and heals wounds. It is tremendously important to take intentional steps to serve your spouse on a daily basis. Spark a relationship revival: •	Do a chore your partner normally takes care of •	Prepare dinner •	Call or text them a “thinking of you” message during the day •	Give a back rub •	Wash their car and fill it up with gas •	Notice and remark about their wonderful qualities •	Pickup around the house •	Watch the kids so he/she can have time to themselves While this list is by no means exhausted, you can get creative and find many ways to serve your spouse. Don’t forget the good attitude—when your partner knows your heart is in it and that you really wanted to do it, that makes them feel all the more loved. Attraction, smiles, trust and thankfulness often follow when spouses surprise each other by practically serving where each one needs it most—in life’s daily routines.
