Types of testing:
Developmental Testing
Whether or not your pediatrician has raised concerns, if your gut is unsettled by your child’s development, you may want to consider scheduling a consultation with one of our psychologists who specializes in child development. Research points to early intervention as key to developmental progress, but, often times, a diagnosis has to be confirmed before this intervention can begin. Let us help ease your mind and discover your child’s strengths and areas of growth while offering guidance towards the next steps.
Psychoeducational Testing
Is your child or adolescent struggling in school? Is he bored and losing interest or having trouble maintaining his attention and focus? Is she having trouble with reading comprehension, math concepts, or dictation? Is homework a constant fight, or is test anxiety getting in the way? If any of this sounds like your child or teen, you may want to consider scheduling a consultation with one of our staff. There are a variety of reasons a child may struggle in school, and it is usually not because he is “lazy” or she “simply needs medication” to help pay attention. An evaluation will help to determine your child’s cognitive strengths and weaknesses (or IQ), learning style, and aptitude. Many of our testing services can also be used to help your child qualify for accommodations or other specialized school services.
Psychological Testing
Sometimes, cognition and aptitude are only a small piece of the puzzle. Inefficient coping skills, emotional and behavioral issues, and personality styles can complicate things and hinder an individual’s ability to reach his full potential at school, work, and in relationships. By using a variety of psychological assessment measures, these roadblocks can be unearthed and then targeted for treatment. No matter if you are a parent still looking for answers, a college student searching for direction and meaning, or an adult who is dissatisfied with her current life situation, a psychological evaluation may give you the direction you are craving.
We also offer evaluation services for various religious organizations, adoption agencies, training programs, and corporations. At this time, we do not offer forensic based services or custody evaluations.
